CEE Welcomes Damian Jones

The Board of Trustees is pleased to announce Damian R. Jones as The Center for Early Education’s next Head of School, effective July 1, 2022. The announcement to the Community can be found here.

Reveta Bowers continues her role as Interim Head of School for the 2021-2022 school year. In addition to regular email updates to the community, we will post updates to this page to keep you informed throughout this important process.

  • January 2021: Damian Connects with CEE through Various Lenses

    On January 19 and 20, Damian met with small groups of faculty and staff in conversation, toured the campus with our tour guide leaders, sat in on a Kindergarten admissions screening, and ended the day attending our January Board of Trustees meeting. He returned to campus early Thursday to again meet with trustees before heading back to school in Washington D.C. He will visit our campus again in February.
  • September 2021: Damian Sees CEE in Action

    He was greeted with enthusiasm and excitement. Damian spent the day in and out of classrooms, striking up conversations with students, and learning about their days. In the afternoon, Damian had a chance to meet with faculty and administrators in person and began his evening greeting parents on a virtual session. Later that night, Damian joined the Board of Trustees for their first meeting of the 2021-2022 academic year.
  • August 2021: Damian Tours CEE with family

    On a bright and sunny summer day, CEE welcomed Damian’s family for a campus tour. At CEE, we embrace togetherness and look forward to having the Jones family join our community.
  • July 2021: Damian and Tasha visit CEE

    The Joneses toured the facilities and met a mix of individuals on the summer campus. The morning began with a breakfast meeting with the Search Committee, followed by meetings with administrators, and a casual dinner with Trustees on campus.

  • The Transition

    The transition from an existing Head to a new Head is an important one for students, faculty, and the entire community.  We thank Reveta for her leadership and guidance during these interim years.  As we look ahead to Damian’s role in our community, CEE is focused on continuity of leadership and creating opportunities throughout this year and beyond. Damian continues to meet with various parts of our community to experience our culture, traditions, and values. Several opportunities have been and will be scheduled in the near future so stay tuned…

Damian is the current Head of School for Edmund Burke School in Washington, D.C. Prior to his role there, Damian served as Assistant Head of School at Francis Parker School, a K-12  in Chicago, IL. As a well-respected and beloved administrator, Damian is not only an experienced educator but also gifted in his ability to lead, make connections, and build community.
