Note: Children must be 5 years old before July 1, 2020 to enter our 2020-2021 Kindergarten Program.
A full day program, Kindergarten is a transition from Early Childhood (or another preschool program) into the Elementary Program. There are two master teachers in each classroom, plus a co-teacher who works with the entire grade.
In Kindergarten, teachers introduce academic subjects using learning centers and units of study. Core subjects include language arts, math, and social studies. In addition, Kindergartners go to teacher specialists for music, art, physical education, science, and library. Each Kindergarten classroom makes creative use of computers in learning centers. Both classes use Smart Boards and iPads to support interactive learning.

In November, applicant families receive a Recommendation Form to be filled out by their child’s preschool. All students applying to Kindergarten will be invited to attend a Kindergarten Screening in December or January. Children spend time playing, listening to a story, and doing some table activities while parents learn more about the Kindergarten program.
