Week 1 June 18-22 Full Day Classes

Creative Drama & Dance with the Funky Divas 1st-4th M-F 9:00 am-3:00 pm $450

If you love music, dancing and acting then this is the camp for you. In Funky Divas Performance Art Camp we dress up, create music videos and act out Fairytales. All kinds of fun activities including: Hip Hop Dance, Face-Painting, Creating our own video news show, Karaoke, Arts & Crafts, Dance games, Dance performances, and more!

Basketball with the Hoop Masters

  • 1st-6th M-F 9:00 am - 3:00 pm $450

Girls and boys join Hoop Masters for a week of skill building and LOTS of games! Hoop Masters are known for their approach that coaches each child to build from their own skill level. Players grouped by age and ability level. See www.hoopmasters.org for more information.

Week 1 June 18-22 Morning Classes

Amusement Park Engineering 1st-3rd M-F 9:00 am -12:00 pm $250

Stem N More brings you unique models that teach elements of energy and power. Students will build several different amusement park ride models, each activated by one or more electrical engines. Students learn about different types of electrical engines, remote controllers and cog wheels. Great take-home projects.

Mad Science/NASA Space Camp K-3rd M-F 9:00 am-12:00 pm $275

Join our Academy of Future Space Explorers and take to the Moon, Mars, Stars…and Beyond! We’ll study stunning space phenomena while we unlock the mysteries of meteors. Learn about living in space by working on a model space station just like a real astronaut. And how could we study space without learning the secrets of space travel and rocket science? This program is OUT OF THIS WORLD! Fantastic hands-on activities and loads of scientific information kid-style. Includes fun games and outdoor recess.

Creative Sculpture 3rd -6th M-F 9:00 am-12:00 pm $250

Students learn how to make figurines, mosaics, multi-media sculptures and more while they learn about famous sculptors like Jeffrey Koons, Kenneth Price and Walter Furtan! We teach the principles of sculpture and then allow students to explore the various media. Come join the fun!

Debate Skills 4th-6th M-F 9:00 am-12:00 pm $250

Come argue with us! You will learn how to compose arguments, extemporaneous thinking, and public speaking skills. Learn to use logic and other rhetorical tools to support your positions and to express yourself succinctly and skillfully. Great preparation for being on a Debate Team or having a “discussion” with your parents.

Week 1 June 18-22 Afternoon Classes

Mad Science/Crazy Chemworks 1st - 4th M-F 9:00 am-12:00 pm $250

Shake a flask of fun in the lab as a junior chemist. Campers learn to swirl, mix and pour like a scientist. Chill down and heat up at the atomic level as you change liquid to solid and back again. Learn how to handle laboratory tools, build and break molecules, and pick up some tricks on chemical changes with solids, liquids and gases. Hop on board the chemistry express for a high speed science experience!

Papier Mache 1st-6th M-F 12:45-3:00 pm $200

Students will create three-dimensional animals using recyclable materials, papier mache, and tempera paint. Students explore and experience the magic of transforming recyclable everyday objects into art. They will learn various sculpture construction techniques, color mixing and most importantly, have fun while getting a little messy!

Techkidz: Stop Motion Animation 2nd-6th M-F 12:45-3:00 pm $200

Have a blast with Stop Motion Animation with clay, Legos, whiteboards, cutouts and more! Storyboard ideas, develop plots, and create unique characters as you bring inanimate objects to life. Each student receives a copy of the collaborative class work at the end of the session.

MAKE A COMPUTER & Program It! 3rd-6th M-F 12:45-3:00 pm $300

Make your own computer using a special kit and program it! Learning more about what goes into making the device turns students into active learners and sets the stage for asking questions and finding answers. Play with coding, animations, other games and activities. And it is fun and cool!

Week 2 June 25-29 Full Day Classes

Mad Science: Fungineering, Mix-Ups & More 1st-3rd M-F 9:00am-3:00pm $450

Put on your engineer’s hat to see how science is used to build skyscrapers, bridges and tunnels. Use simple machines to help lift weights and even launch marshmallows. Spend a day being a true Mad Scientist as you learn about chemical reactions that you might encounter in your daily life. See how film captures light to store images and how filmmakers make images move during “shutterbugs day”. Walk on the wild side and explore the nature of birds, beasts and bugs.

Hogwarts Academy Wizard School 1st-4th M-F 9:00am-12:00pm $250

Perfect your magic spells in this interactive, creative, spell-binding class! Find out which house you belong to and learn how to make potions, use your wand, identify creatures and more! Witches and Wizards of all ages will graduate the Academy with the supplies and skills to use their magic for good.

Opening Night! 1st-6th M-F 9:00am-12:00pm $325

Opening Night builds confidence, discovers talents, and encourages individuality through learning theatre skills such as acting, singing, dancing, and improvisation. Everyone shines onstage in a featured role at the end-of-week performance for family and friends! www.openingnightkids.com. Tech-cessories 2nd-6th M-F 9:00 am -12:00pm $250

Calling all tech and fashion enthusiasts! Ever think about what futuristic clothing and accessories might look like? Do you like technology so much that you would like to make it? Then this is the class for you! We will be exploring soft circuits including conducting thread and felt to make accessories that light up and move. Here are some projects we may make: light up bracelets, key chains for backpacks, blinking necklace. Combine your robotics mind with your creative thinking cap to make fun TECHNO-ACCESSORIES!

Basketball and your Highlight Reel with the Hoop Masters 2nd -6th M-F 9:00 am–12:00 pm $250

Girls and boys join Hoop Masters and make a cool video of YOU being awesome at Basketball. Play basketball and film each other. Then pull out the highlights, add graphics, and music and there it is: A Highlight Reel all of your best moments. The scouts will be swarming to see these creations.

Week 2 June 25-29 Afternoon Classes

Spanish Cooking/Cocina Española 1st-3rd M-F 12:45-3:00 pm $200

Join Jessica for some yummy Spanish and Mexican recipes you will love to cook and eat. AND as you do this you will learn Spanish words and phrases. The week culminates as you make a mini-restaurant come alive with decorations, a menu and lots of comida deliciosa!

Chess 1st-3rd M-F 12:45-3:00 pm $200

All levels welcome. Chess is a great game to learn that will last a lifetime. Introduces chess to students in a fun way! We teach all levels to play chess and strategies. Chess stimulates problem solving skills, analytical skills, and critical thinking. Exclusive booklets and worksheets, certificates, medals and trophies! You’ll be amazed at how these kids can learn to play! Beginners are welcome. All levels coached.

Cardboard MANIA with Keven 1st-6th M-F 12:45-3:00 pm $200

In this class students will learn the tricks of the trade and become cardboard engineers! In 2012, Caine's Arcade started a cardboard building revolution and this class encourages that kind of creativity and innovation. Reminiscent of childhood backyard projects with an old refrigerator box, students will brainstorm ideas, make maquettes (models), and learn how to build structures. In this process they will practice a variety of techniques such as scoring and folding, rolling and tucking, slot joints and taping. And then we will design and build an arcade style game. Will yours be like Skeeball? Whack-a-Mole? Or entirely new? On the final day we will culminate with an Arcade Party where we can all try our luck and have fun playing each other's inventions.

Architecture Academy 3rd-6th M-F 12:45-3:00 pm $225

Part math, part science, and part art, this STEAM class has it all! Using assorted architectural & bridge building model sets this class teaches basic drafting, scale, symmetry, proportion and geometry. Students will build iconic models and learn about famous architects and explore their creativity.

Volleyball Camp with April 4th – 7th M-F 12:45-3:00 pm $250

Have a blast working on Volleyball fundamentals, tactics and games. A great opportunity to improve self-confidence and enthusiasm for the sport. All levels work to develop a sound skill foundation and refine and strengthen skills. Individual attention and coaching support from an experienced coaching staff. All levels welcome for this ultra-positive coaching experience.

Week 3 July 2-6 Full Day Classes (no class July 4)

Mad Science: Inventors Camp, Eureka! 1st-4th M-F 9:00am-3:00pm $360

This is a camp designed to inspire the inventor and scientist within! Each day campers will be given challenges, which must be overcome by using basic materials, tips from world famous inventors, including Da Vinci, Edison, Ben Franklin and Rube Goldberg, newly acquired science knowledge, and, most importantly, your mind! Thomas Edison said, “Invention is 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration,” and we say this camp is sure to be 100% fun!

Week 3 July 2-6 Morning Classes (no class July 4)

Book & Storymaking with Stephanie 1st-3rd grade M-F 9:00am-12:00 pm $200

Star in your own storybook! We’ll read stories and then write our own. AND we make the actual books you can read and lend to others to read. Using digital photos, your own drawing and the computer we will create books that you can take home! These are truly fun and beautiful keepsakes of your child’s creativity.

Best of (Almost) 1st Grade 1st Grade M-F 9:00am-12:00 pm $200

A morning of First Grade fun. Aren’t you so excited about going into first grade? Spend the morning getting a taste of first grade with fun activities that keep our minds working. Some language arts, some math games, and other highlights of the first grade curriculum.

Minecraft Camp 1st - 4th grade M-F 9:00 am - 12:00 $200

Join us to learn about and play the most popular computer game on the planet! Learn Minecraft building techniques, details of command blocks, and how to change the look of the game. Kids learn strategy, team building, and cooperation skills while playing Minecraft in a fun, safe, and supervised environment.

Project Runway and Jewelry Making/Design and Express yourself 1st-6th grade M-F 9:00am - 12:00pm $225

Create a “line” of clothing, from formal gowns to casual chic! Come up with your own design for a school uniform and make an outfit from clothes from your closet. Then you can make jewelry to go along with your new designs or for a special occasion. Items could include: earrings, bracelets, necklaces, pins or rings! This will be fun and FABULOUS!

Robot Making – 1 & 2 2nd – 6th M-F 9:00 am - 12:00 pm $250

Make take-home robot models. They may include the Insectoid Robot, the Brush Robot and the Table-Top Robot. Learn engineering principles such as gears, wheels, and axles as you design amazing robots to battle against others in becoming the Battle-Bot Champion! New models for returning students.

Aviation Engineering: Build a Drone 3rd-6th M-F 9:00 am - 12:00 pm $250

This course focuses on aviation science such as wing designs, propulsion, gravity, jet engines and motors. With a set of experiments and work sheets, the students will assemble different flying machines including wood planes and MAKE AN ELECTRIC DRONE. Students will take home every model they build!

LEVEL UP VILLAGE – Global Program Scientists - Digital Pen-Pals 3rd-6th M-F 9:00 am - 12:00pm $250

Digital Pen Pals! As you learn about the water cycle and aquifers, students also begin to understand water usage and shortages and how these affect communities. Then, through video messaging, you will be interacting with a class from abroad and sharing experiences and information. You will collaborate with your global partner to exchange ideas as you design and make a water filter.

Week 3 July 2-6 Afternoon Classes (no class July 4)

Kids’ Café 1st-3rd M-F 12:45-3:00pm $160

Kids love to EAT and COOK! We will cook a variety of food while we learn about nutrition, manners, how to follow recipes and make a recipe book of your favorites. Appetizers, lunch, delicious and healthy snacks and desserts will be fun to make and eat! One of the Summer Institute’s all-time most popular classes!

Best of (Almost) 2nd Grade 2nd Grade M-F 12:45-3:00pm $160

An afternoon of Second Grade fun. Aren’t you so excited about going into second grade? Spend a few hours getting a taste of second grade with fun activities that keep our minds working. Some language arts, some math games and other highlights of the second grade curriculum.

Jedi Training 1st-3rd grade M-F 12:45-3:00pm $185

The force will be with you as you learn the ways of the Padawan. All are welcome to new projects each year. Play ultimate Deathstar games, build Star Wars vehicles and go from Jedi to Knight! Draw the Clone Wars characters, create a Jedi uniform, and take home a light saber.

Dino Engineering 1st -3rd M-F 12:45-3:00pm $200

Check out this cool combination of 2 things you love…dinosaurs and robots! Science exploration combining and hands-on building. Stem N More creates their own unique products that students build as they learn different aspects of the creative scientific process. Use a kid-friendly excavation kit and build robot models that simulate different dinosaur species. Students take home all robots they make.

Art Studio for the young Artist 1st-6th M-F 12:45-3:00pm $160

Decide on an artist project you want to make this week and go to it. The teacher presents some possibilities but this is the student’s chance to make art in our Open Art Studio.

Creative Writing and Pop-Ups, Books-within-a-book and more 2nd – 6th M-F 12:45-3:00 pm $160

Write stories that you can put into a book form. Construct a few different kinds of books. Create pop-up pages all your own and making your own book within a book project.

NXT Lego Mindstorm 3rd-6th M-F 12:45-3:00pm $160

Students will design, build, and program real robots using NXT Mindstorm Robotics. Planning & organizing, design, creative problem solving and independent thinking are all put to the test.

Dungeons & Dragons (this is NOT a computer game) 2nd – 6th grade M-F 12:45-3:00 pm $160

A fantasy role-playing game based on characters from The Hobbit & Lord of the Rings series by J.R.R. Tolkien. In playing D&D students will develop teamwork through group concentration, exercise their imaginations, make decisions and see the consequences of their choices. In the framework of an enjoyable adventure, students use history, mathematics, abstract reasoning, research and group problem-solving to gain success, defeat obstacles, and win ‘treasure’... and along the way there will be laughs and fun.

Week 4 July 9 - 13 Morning Classes

LEVEL UP VILLAGE – Global Program Animators – Digital Pen-Pals 1st-3rd grade M-F 9:00am-12:00 pm $275

Video exchange with another class of kids your age from another country. Students will be making animations and digital art using Scratch Programming from MIT. Learn how to snap together graphical programming blocks to make characters move, jump, dance and speak. Then collaborate with the global partner class from abroad as you share each other’s creations and share what you have learned.

Rocket Science & Astronomy 1st-3rd grade M-F 9:00am-12:00 pm $250

Ready, Set, Blast off! Explore the universe as we launch everything from Film Canisters Rockets to Water Bottle Blasters, Business Card Boomerangs and more! Our adventures will take us to Titan, Mars and a Galactic Cluster as we learn about comets, constellations and our galaxy. This class is out of this world!

Work with an acting pro to learn some fun and funny drama improvisation games and then spend some time working on scripted scenes. Think you might like to be an actor? Or just want to have some fun acting things out? Join us for a great time.

Learn the tricks that stun & delight. Mathemagic combines the exciting skills of Magic with the brain-teasing aspects of Math to create an intellectual and entertaining activity that not only enhances students’ problem solving skills but also teaches them that Math can be fun!

Animal Invasion 1st – 6th grade M-F 12:45-3:00 pm $200

A unique experience to get up close with some unusual animals. You will meet lizards, snakes, rabbits, birds and maybe a goat or some ferrets (it all depends on who is up to it that day) and more! We’ll be able to observe (and pet) animals in the classroom and we’ll do projects about the animals.

TechKidz: App Inventors 2nd – 6th grade M-F 12:45-3:00 pm $200

Design your own Apps using MIT’s App Inventor program. Create apps of different types from animation-based to STEM-based to just plain old fun games.

Emagazine – write and/or illustrate articles 3rd – 6th grade M-F 12:45-3:00 pm $200

We will make a cool magazine that will be posted on-line. It can include stories, articles, comics, surveys, art. A great summer activity for putting your ideas out there and giving others something cool to read.

ESCAPE ROOM – Are You UP to it?! 3rd – 6th grade M-F 12:45-3:00 pm $250

Join the challenging fun activity taking the city by storm. You will face puzzles and challenges to see if you can get out of the room in the allotted time. Several different theme rooms during the week and them you will make a challenging escape room for others to try.

After School Summer Classes

Karate 1st-6th Tuesdays & Thursdays 3:15-4:00pm $160

Learn in a fun, safe, and non-competitive setting. Classes designed for you to have fun, learn new skills, and become knowledgeable in the art of self-defense AND lessons of life. We specialize in teaching children positive attitudes towards themselves and others. Classes are closely supervised for the safety of every child. Students do need to wear a uniform. Other karate/martial arts uniforms are acceptable. Or sign up for a uniform when you register for class ($45).

Private Piano Lessons 1st-6th Mondays & Wednesdays 3-3:30pm, 3:30-4pm, 4-4:30pm, 4:30-5pm $456

8 private piano lessons with an experienced teacher. A great way for your child to try out piano or continue studies for 4 weeks this summer. Limited availability.
