CEE Students Connect with Astronauts

On Monday, January 24, 2022, CEE students participated in a NASA downlink event with astronauts aboard the International Space Station.
NASA astronauts Kayla Barron and Mark Vande Hei answered pre-recorded CEE student questions live from space!

CEE student questions ranged from "Do plants grown on the space station taste different than plants grown here on earth?" and "What is your favorite thing to do on the space station when you are not working?" Thank you to NASA for facilitating this exciting opportunity for our students to connect directly with astronauts and learn more about the space program.

Over sixty kindergarten through sixth grade students submitted video questions for consideration by NASA and around twenty were selected for the live event. Each student submitted thoughtful, well-prepared questions. A recording of the event can be viewed here.

Here are two links to local publications that covered our school’s unique experience with NASA: Beverly Press & LA Parent. We are excited to continue to follow the progress of Expedition 66!
