  Amy-Marie Rivera

  Director of Early Childhood Programs
  Amy-Marie comes to The Center from the Corlears School in NYC, where she worked for 20 years. During her time at Corlears, she was a preschool through first grade teacher, a Reading Specialist/Literacy Coach, and finally the Assistant Head of School and Director of Teaching and Learning for nursery school through fifth grade (since 2013). She recently served as the inaugural Executive Director for the Independent School Admissions Association of Greater New York (ISAAGNY). Amy attended Bank Street College of Education, where she received her Masters in Early Childhood Education and her Doctorate in Education in Advanced Master’s Literary specialization. Amy-Marie earned a BA in Studio Art and Comparative Religious Studies from the University of Rochester.

  Ann Romero de Córdoba

  Upper Elementary Art Teacher
  For the past nine years, Ann taught art in Chinese to lower school students at Avenues: The World School in New York City. Before that, she taught art at the International Montessori School of Beijing for four years and spent several years in Beijing as a freelance artist and photographer. Ann has a BA in art history and visual arts from Princeton University, an MFA in photography from Massachusetts College of Art, and an MA in art education from Teachers College, Columbia University. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in curriculum and instruction focusing on art education through Indiana University, Bloomington.

  Bryan Jovel '04

  Daycare/Instructional Support
  Before turning to a career in education, Bryan gained experience in a number of different fields, from food service to technology. Bryan also participated in training for the LAXPD (Los Angeles Airport Police). Bryan then returned to school to CSUN to study Child and Adolescent Development in hopes of pursuing a career helping people. While at CSUN, Bryan volunteered at Calahan Community Charter and Pomelo Community Charter schools to gain increased experience working with children. Bryan is a proud CEE alumnus and is lucky to work alongside his mom, longtime CEE employee Delmy!

  Chad (Charles) Kline

  C3CD Teacher
  Chad joins the CEE community from Emblaze Academy in the Bronx, New York where he taught seventh-grade literacy. After receiving his Master's degree in Elementary Education from the East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania, Chad taught for six years in Philadelphia in the Kindergarten, third, fourth, and fifth grade Inclusive Classrooms. Chad was also a grade team leader and worked as an Early Literacy Specialist for the Children's Literacy Initiative working with low-performing schools to share best practices in K-3 literacy education.

  Diane Wolfe

  Part-Time Daycare Teacher
  Diane worked in TV animation production until the birth of her first child. Since then, for the last 30 years, Diane has worked at the Ernie Wolfe Gallery with her husband, Ernie Wolfe. She describes her favorite job as raising their two sons (proud CEE alumni!), now 27 and 29 and both teachers. As a CEE alumni parent, Diane shares that she is "so excited to return to this nurturing place I love dearly!"

  Erie French

  Daycare/Instructional Support
  Before joining CEE in 2020, Erie served as a school support substitute at various schools throughout Los Angeles, both in elementary and secondary schools. In the summers, Erie typically worked as an English as a second language (ESL) teacher and then transitioned to a role as the academic director for the same summer program. Erie also has experience with children on the autism spectrum as a one-to-one support specialist, which allowed Erie to gain experience in both general education and special education classrooms.

  Fanny Juarez

  Daycare/Instructional Support
  Most recently, Fanny worked for three years for the Los Angeles Unified School District with an After School Program called Beyond the Bell as a Program Supervisor. Fanny facilitated and supervised recreational, educational, and enrichment activities for children at various age levels and stages. She began her career in education working at a Daycare Center where she provided additional teacher support supervising children inside and outside the classroom setting.

  Jazmin Hart

  Daycare/Instructional Support
  Jazmin spent many years as a culinary instructor for an after-school enrichment program where she taught elementary students Culinary Arts, Sculpture Clay, and Nerf Sports Games. Jazmin has been working in the culinary field for roughly 11 years, and looks forward to continuing to pursue her passion to help children learn the benefits of the food they eat and introduce them to cooking skills at CEE.

  Kenia Romero

  Executive Assistant to the Head of School
  Before joining CEE, Kenia was a Production Coordinator for WeWork. She managed events and large-scale productions that took place at various WeWork locations. Some notable shows Kenia worked on are This Is Us, American Horror Stories, and The L Word. Kenia's professional background includes planning, coordinating, and executing projects in a variety of entertainment mediums such as theater, live and social events, and film productions. She was an Executive Theatre House Manager for nearly a decade at several theater companies and educational institutions in Los Angeles. Kenia has also managed building operations in commercial real estate.

  Mallory Konell

  C5CD Teacher
  Prior to joining The Center for Early Education faculty, Mallory was a fifth grade math teacher in Los Angeles for seven years. Before that, Mallory taught middle school math and served as an Advisor at Carolina Friends School in North Carolina (where she went to school herself, teaching next door to her own middle school math teacher!). She attended the Graduate School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania and taught at several different schools as an Associate Teacher, completing her student teaching in fourth and fifth grades. Before returning to graduate school to pursue becoming a teacher, Mallory worked at Channel Thirteen (a PBS station) in New York City.

  Mario Morales

  Director of Facilities
  Before joining CEE in 2020, Mario spent over twenty years as a Facilities Environmental Health and Safety Manager for various suppliers to the aerospace industry. Mario’s career began in a laboratory setting conducting analyses in medical healthcare and environmental remediation. After several years, Mario made the transition to environmental compliance and facilities management.

  Megan Loughman '05

  Covid Compliance Coordinator/In-House Floating Substitute Teacher
  Prior to joining CEE in January 2021, Megan worked for several years as a Social Innovation Coordinator at the Goldhirsh Foundation, a private family foundation based in Los Angeles. She started at the Goldhirsh Foundation as an intern in 2015 and worked there through graduate school and beyond. Meghan received a Master's degree in Public Policy from USC's Sol Price School of Public Policy in 2019 and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Megan is a proud Center alumna and is looking forward to spending more time in classrooms this fall!

  Mishi Magno

  School Nurse
  For the past six years, Michelle (AKA “Mishi”) Magno, RN BSN has been a Clinical Nurse in the Pediatrics Department and in the Pediatric Congenital Heart ICU at Cedars Sinai, while also working in the Pediatrics Inpatient Department at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, Los Angeles. She has been a registered nurse since 2010. Mishi shared, “I have built my career to achieve my aim of serving with my heart. My education and experience have provided me with exceptional knowledge and skills on patient assessments, treatments, prevention and education in family-centered care.”

  Natalie Kingsbury

  Registrar
  Prior to joining The Center, Natalie worked at Marlborough School for three years as an admissions/school-wide administrative assistant. Natalie was involved in maintaining the admissions database, coordinating admissions-related events, and providing administrative support. She loved getting to know students and families throughout the admissions process and building relationships with them. Prior to Marlborough, Natalie worked in high-end fashion accessories, collaborating with clients that ranged from streetwear to card brands to help bring their pieces to life.

  Ryan Bird

  School Psychologist
  Ryan began his career in psychology as a behavioral therapist at the Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD) in 2009. He earned a Master’s in School Psychology from the University of La Verne, going on to serve children in the Covina-Valley and Glendora Unified school districts. For the last five years, Ryan was the lead psychologist at Vista Charter Public Schools, gaining first-hand experience working with students and families suffering from the impacts of poverty, racism, abuse, and trauma. Ryan earned his Doctorate in Education from USC where he completed a dissertation study on urban high school principals implementing social and emotional learning (SEL).

  Taylor Holeman

  Daycare/Instructional Support
  Upon completing graduate school and prior to joining CEE, Taylor worked at Creative Artists Agency (CAA) in the sports and foundation departments. Taylor later moved to Las Vegas to work for CAA ICON alongside the LV Raiders on the production of Allegiant Stadium, then traveled the country as a part of the Bernie 2020 Inc. national advance team, and most recently served as the personal assistant to the CMO of Netflix. Taylor played Division 1 collegiate basketball and that experience helped her realize that working with children and being a basketball coach for young girls was a lifelong dream. Taylor explains, “pursuing a career in education is the most rewarding and fulfilling decision I have made this far in my professional life.”

  Vanessa Meza

  Toddler B Teacher
  Before joining CEE, Vanessa studied Business at Mount Saint Mary's. While a student at Mount Saint Mary's, Vanessa took classes in child development and developed a strong interest in working with children. Along with being a full-time student, Vanessa also worked as a childcare provider. While working in childcare, Vanessa provided extensive support in tutoring, activity planning, weekly scheduling, and technology. She also volunteered in a classroom setting for children with Down Syndrome facilitating guided reading time, math tutoring, classroom activities, and goal setting for behavioral changes.
